St. Mary School Parent's Association

Thank you to all the parents, teachers, staff, class parents and Parents’ Association Board Members for all the time and work you have so generously donated to the Parents’ Association during the two years that Frances and I have co-chaired the PA. The children of Saint Mary School have been so very fortunate to have you all oversee their activities and fundraisers. We hope you will be able to help the new Parents’ Association chairperson(s) again next year. Thank you all again for helping us achieve our goals for the children of Saint Mary School.
Have a wonderful and blessed summer.
Marie Sabini and Frances Manziak

Rockville Centre—Ursuline Sister Joanne Callahan, Diocesan  Superintendent of Schools, is recognized as an official with authority to respond to Revenue Procedure (75-50) which was published in the Internal Revenue Bulletin dated December 8, 1975.In conformity with the IRS regulation, notice is hereby given that the schools of the Diocese of Rockville Centre admit students of any race to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the schools and that the schools do not discriminate on the basis of race in administration of their education policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
Sister Joanne further explained that the very notion of racial discrimination is diametrically opposed to the concept of Christian communities that our schools strive to be.  She also pointed out that our Catholic schools have always welcomed and have been enriched by students from various ethnic groups.

Restore Catholic School Funding
Take Action Now
Because  the State Education Department changed the original Comprehensive  Attendance Policy (CAP)reimbursement formula, religious and independent  schools across the state are being cheated out of approximately $15 million.  During these final weeks of budget negotiations, lawmakers  have an opportunity to restore the original CAP formula, thereby  ensuring that Catholic schools are reimbursed for their actual costs in  complying with CAP.  Please email the Governor and your Senate and  Assembly representatives as soon as possible. A pre-written, fully  editable email is
HERE. Just put in your address information to ensure it goes to your correct legislators.
