Building Faith & Minds for the Future
Est. 1914
The Visual Arts Program is introduced in nursery and continues through grade eight. Students have the opportunity to grow through artistic expression.
The roles and functions of a teacher and a learner depend on one's view of human nature and society. I truly believe I fall under the philosophy of realism. I do believe we inhabit a world of order and reality that was not constructed by us. I also believe that the curriculums are to be organized as skills, activities and subjects that are taught in relation to the individual's readiness and stage of development. I agree that you need to engage a student in community while applying themselves to learn. Realism suggest that education is a life-long process involving many people and many places. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree at Adelphi University. When I'm not teaching art, I love spending time with my family, friends and being outdoors.
Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade will have art once a week. I will be here at Saint Mary's School Tuesdays-Thursday each week. There are new and exciting things happening this school year! I am looking forward to seeing all of you and having a wonderful year!
