Please go to Google Classroom.
The answers to last week's assignments are attached. For the worksheet on Identifying Graphs, if you used interval notation, I have included those answers on a word document. Please carefully correct your work so you can see how you did.
Go to joinmyquiz.com and enter code 574483. This quiz reviews using interval notation.
Today, you can go back to the Extra Credit Assignment on Castle Learning. This will be due at the end of the week. I will give you time one more day this week to work on this. This assignment is not due today.
Week of April 20-24
Friday, April 24
Complete the activity, Evaluating Emazing Functions. Complete the answer sheet and submit.
To further explain, please look at example #2. In #2 one example is: f(x)=2x^{2 } - x + 3, find f(x + 1), you must substitute x+1 in the quadratic . You will not have 2(x+1)^{2} – (x+1) + 3. This equals 2(x^{2 }+ 2x +1) – (x + 1) +3. This equals 2x^{2} + 4x +2 –x -1 +3. Remember when you have a – sign in front of parentheses you must change all of the signs of the terms in the parentheses. The final answer would be 2x^{2} + 3x +4.
Go back to the extra credit assignment for Trimester 3 on Castle Learning. When you complete this assignment let me know so I can go on and give you credit for it. I will also give time next week to continue to work on this assignment.
The four submitted assignments for this week must be done on time because I will be posting the answers next week, If not completed by Sunday, April 26, you can't be graded. I must do this so you can check if you are getting the concepts before we move on.
Thursday, April 23
Please go to Google Classroom. I have attached the answers to the activity assigned yesterday. Please go over your answers carefully before you complete the activity assigned for today.
Complete the activity, Identifying Graphs of Function. Complete the answer sheet and submit.
Wednesday, April 22
Please go to Google Classroom. This assignment is repeated there.
I am attaching the answers to the assignment given yesterday that you did not submit, Picking Functions. Please correct and go over any incorrect answers. I am also putting the answers for "Function Factory" so you can see how you did.
Watch the attached video on domain and range and take notes on facts you did not know. The notes should be put in your notebook. Please label your notes with the name of the video. You will notice that they use something called interval notation to give the domain and range. I have included two other videos that go over this more in depth. There is also an explanation on p.3 of your little green book.
Complete the activity below on Domain and Range. Put all answers in your notebook. You can use your graphing calculators to graph the examples given. When giving the domain and range two symbols are used. The two symbols are: parentheses ( ) and [ ]. You use parentheses ( ) when the value is not included in the domain or range, and [ ] when the value is included. For example if the domain (the x values go from 1 to 6 inclusive, the domain would be written [ 1,6 ]. If the domain would not include 1 or 6, but all of the numbers in between, then you must write it as (1,6). If you had a linear equation (a line), the domain and range would include all real numbers. That should be written as (-∞, ∞). This means it goes from negative infinity to positive infinity. Parentheses are used because infinity goes on forever. There are twos videos below to go over this concept. You only have to know how to find the domain and range for a graph, do not worry about the part on the second video that talks about finding the domain and range algebraically. Please watch the two videos before you complete the activity. You may have to watch them twice if you need to. You do not have to submit your answers to the activity.
Tuesday, April 21
Watch the attached video on Google Classroom on relations and functions . Once again this is a quick review of what we already covered.
Complete the worksheet, Picking Functions. You should complete this in your notebook. You do not have to submit this work.
Complete the worksheet, Chocolate Chip Cookie Caper. Complete the answer sheet and submit. Just to further explain the directions. For #2 f(4) -4 . Here you have to substitute 4 into the quadratic equation given and then subtract 4 from that answer. The answer would be (16 - 8 - 3) - 4 = 1. There are some answers that are fractions, so do not think your answer is incorrect.
Monday, April 20
Welcome back! I hope you had a nice Easter with your family! I wish we were closer to seeing each other again, but safety must come first. Remember, what I have written here for Monday, April 20 is repeated on Google Classroom with any attachments your will need.

Tuesday, April 7
First, check your answers to workbook p. 16,17, and 18. The answers are on Google Classroom.
Complete the activity, Function Notation, which is more practice with functional notation. Just a note about #6. You must first find g(3) and then square that answer. For #7 you must first find f(3), then find g(4) and add the two results.
Record your answers in your notebook and then use the answer sheet to submit. On the answer sheet, Function Notation, just put the letter from the second column that matches with the first.
Complete Regents Review #3 on Castle Learning. All work should be done on LL, but you do not have to submit your work. Keep it in your binder. I will get a report from Castle Learning on how you performed on the activity.

Hi! I hope you are all doing well. I am very happy with all of the good work you have been doing. Keep up the good work!!!
Go to joinmyquiz.com and enter the game code 178609 and complete the quiz. This quiz is on functional notation. That is where you substitute a value in a function. For example if: f(x)= 2x – 3 , find f(-12). All I did was substitute -12 for x. 2(-12) – 3 = -27
Once again the time limit is set at 5 minutes so you do not have to rush. Take your time.
Make sure that you have completed p.16-18 in the red Regents Review Book.
Complete Algebra Regents Review #2 on Castle Learning. Work should be done on LL but does not have to be submitted. I will get the report of how you did from Castle Learning.

Monday, March 30
Today you will be doing a Parabola Investigation. This assignment can be found in the packet. Remember, a copy of the packet is on Google Classroom under Packet. This assignment consists of three pages, Sets 1-7. You will need your calculator to complete this work. For each set you must enter each equation Y_{1}, Y_{2},and Y_{3} into your calculator under y=. Please enter one and a time because after entering each equation you must sketch the parabola on the given graph and label. After you sketch Y_{1}, enter Y_{2} into the calculator and sketch that parabola. You must do the same to the third parabola. Do not worry about being exact in your graphing, as it is only a sketch. After graphing the three parabolas you will be asked to make a conclusion about how your graphs are different. You must then answer the answer in the box. You must do this for all 7 sets. This topic will use what we learned last year about transformations. Tomorrow I will have you view a video to review what you discovered by doing the Parabola Investigation. Keep the Parabola Investigation in your binder. Complete the answer sheet on on Google Classroom. You only have to put the conclusion you put in the box for each set and submit.
